West Indies left-arm spinner, Jomel Warrican, is the ICC Men’s test Player for the Month of January.
Warrican won the accolade on the back of a splendid performance in Pakistan in which he bagged 19 wickets on the two-Test tour.
He claimed career-best 10 for 101 and scored an unbeaten 31 in the first Test which the West Indies lost by 127 runs inside three days.
Warrican then followed up in the second Test, also in Multan, with nine wickets and batting scores of 36 and 18 to steer the Windies to an impressive 120 run victory – their first Test win in Pakistan in 35 years.
Warrican scored 85 runs and claimed 19 wickets earning him the Player of the Series award.
This was the first-ever occasion that the 32-year-old had won the player of the month honour, while just the third such time for a West Indies player.
The previous two players, Shamar Joseph and Gudakesh Motie, received player of the month awards in 2024.
