Warrior King gets Asia surprise

Rastafarian reggae artiste Warrior King was thrilled to find Japanese fans singing word for word some of his greatest hits.

The Breath of Fresh Air recently visited the Asian country for his Positive Energy tour, and was blown away by the reception he received.

"The crowds were amazing. Each show was more than a concert -- it was a spiritual encounter," Warrior King said. "I was impressed that the fans, the majority of them, knew songs like Breath of Fresh Air, I Love You and Baby Girl. They sang them word for word."

The tour featured major highlights like sold-out shows at the Yokohama Bayhall, where he was the only performer in front of over 3,000 fans. He had no fewer than eight shows in Japan, climaxing with an exciting performance at the packed Forest Inn Sangoro in Yamagata on July 21.

Warrior King's debut album, Virtuous Woman, released in 2002, spent nine weeks on the Billboard charts.

Meanwhile, in addition to stops in Japan, Warrior King visited the Philippines, Vietnam, Hong Kong and Thailand. It was his first trip to those countries. The reggae artiste is slated to travel to Guyana on August 1, and then to Barbados later that month.
