Watts Steers Jamaica to T20 Blaze Final

Defending champions Jamaica are through to the final of the Cricket West Indies T20 Blaze competition after comprehensively beating Guyana by seven wickets at Arnos Vale in St. Vincent this afternoon.

Set 84 to win on the last day of round robin action, Jamaica raced to 84 for 3 in 16.1 overs as Abigail Bryce was left unbeaten on 30.

Earlier Vanessa Watts bagged 4 for 13 and Nicole Campbell 2 for 12 as they combined to stifle the Guyana batting with only Shermaine Campbell 34 making any useful score in their 83 for 9 in 20 overs.

With the victory Jamaica finished second in the group stage and will now face the same Guyanese in the final on Saturday also at Arnos Vale starting at .

The game became a must win for Jamaica after the Leeward Islands beat Trinidad and Tobago by 36 runs in the first game of the triple header this morning.

The Windward Islands will face winless Barbados in the last preliminary round game at 6 this evening.
