Well-known businesswoman found dead at home in St Mary, husband in police custody

The quiet community of Dover in St Mary has been plunged into mourning following the discovery of a 43-year-old well-known businesswoman Sophia Morgan who was found unresponsive inside her home.

The deceased has been identified as 43-year-old Sophia Morgan, of Dover District in Annotto Bay, St Mary. Her husband has reportedly been taken into police custody as investigators continue to probe the circumstances surrounding her death.

According to police reports, concerns arose on Wednesday after Morgan failed to open her business establishment at its usual time. Repeated attempts to reach her by telephone were also unsuccessful, prompting further concern.

Investigators say Morgan was last seen alive at approximately 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday while closing her business. At about 3:45 p.m. the following day, her spouse reportedly went to her home to check on her and discovered her lying unresponsive on her bed, with injuries to her head.

The police were subsequently alerted, and Morgan was transported to the Annotto Bay Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Her death has sent shockwaves through the community as police continue their investigations. No further details have been released, and the circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation.
