At tea time the visitor reached 138 for 6 with Travis Head on 59 not out.
The Windies got off to a flyer, rocking the Aussies back at 22 for 3 with Shamar Joseph sending back Sam Konstas and Cameron Green both for 3 before Jaydon Seales joined the party and removed Josh Inglis for 5.
