Cricket West Indies (CWI) has announced the West Indies Women’s squad for the T20 International series against Australia women’s national cricket team, scheduled from March 19–23 at Arnos Vale Cricket Ground in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
The Maroon Warriors will field an unchanged squad. The series forms part of the team’s preparation for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in the United Kingdom later this year. The squad combines experienced players and young talent.
Captain Hayley Matthews led West Indies to victory in the final ODI against Sri Lanka, following a 2–1 series loss at home. Senior players Stafanie Taylor, Deandra Dottin, and Matthews bring experience to the squad. Wicketkeeper-batter Shemaine Campbelle is expected to earn her 150th T20 International cap during the series. Emerging players Eboni Brathwaite and Jahzara Claxton are included for their first major international exposure.
Head Coach Shane Deitz said the series offers an opportunity to assess the team’s preparation against the world’s top-ranked side. He noted the team last played Australia in October 2023 and emphasized the importance of evaluating areas of improvement before the World Cup.
Following the T20 matches, the teams will travel to Warner Park in St. Kitts and Nevis for a three-match ODI series. Fans can attend all matches free of charge or watch via ESPN’s Disney+ streaming service.
