Former Jamaica first class batsman and current president of Melbourne Cricket Club, Mark Neita, suggests that the upcoming T20 series between West Indies and Australia is the best chance for the Caribbean men to play competitive cricket.

The first two matches of the T20 series is set for July 20 and 22 at Sabina Park.

Ranked number six, the West Indies last defeated the Aussies is a T20 series back in 2021.

According to Neita, the shorter format of the game presents a greater opportunity for success.

However, based on the recently concluded Test series, he’s hoping that performance doesn’t spill over to Sunday’s opening fixture.

Meanwhile, Neita added his voice to the announcement from Cricket West Indies on the pending departure of all-rounder Andre Russell from International cricket.

He explained that Russell’s name is already etched on the list of best players to feature in the shorter format of the game.
