The West Indies posted their second highest ever T20 International total to beat Ireland by 62 runs in the final game of their three match series at the Bready Ground on Sunday to take the series 1-0.

Evin Lewis, 91, and Captain Shai Hope, 51, shared in a first wicket stand of 122 to lay the foundation for the big total of 256 for 5.

Lewis belted seven fours and eight sixes in his 44 ball knock while Hope slammed four fours and four sixes off 27 deliveries.

Keacy Carthy weighed in with an unbeaten 49 against Matthew Humphreys, 2 for 16.

Ross Adair, 48, and Harry Tector shared in a second wicket stand of 101, but the Irish chase fizzled when both departed, as only Mark McCarthy, 31, showed any further resistance with 31 as Akeal Hosein bagged 3 for 27 and Jason Holder 2 for 49.

The West Indies next limited overs series will be their five game schedule against Australia at the start of July at Sabina Park.
