Coach of the West Indies, Darren Sammy, says the tour of Ireland is the first step in their quest to qualify for the 2027 ICC One Day International World Cup.
The Caribbean men are set to face the hosts in three ODIs from May 21-25.
The first match will be played at Dublin, on Wednesday.
Sammy says they travelled to Ireland early to ensure the players get acclimatize to the weather conditions.
The regional side won 5 of their last 6 home matches and Sammy wants them to replicate the dominance on the road.
He admits that Sherfane Rutherford and Romario Shepherd will not be available for the Ireland tour.
