After restricting the Aussies to 144 for 8 in their 20 overs, the Windies were bowled out for 109 in 17.2 overs
Captain Hayley Matthews 42 and Quiana Joseph 36 were the stars and were the only two batters into double figures
Alana King 4 for 30 and Tayla Valemink 33 for 33 took most wickets for Australia.
Earlier Annabel Sutherland made 38, Ashleigh Gardner 31, King 21 not out and captain Alyssa Healy 20 made most contribution to the Australian total.
Aaliyah Alleyne and Afy Fletcher took two wickets each.
The West Indies opens their campaign at the World Cup on Thursday with a showdown against South Africa in group B in Dubai.
