Two time world champion, Danielle Williams, and national champion, Natoya Goule-Toppin, are the only two Jamaicans confirmed so far to compete at the inaugural Athlos track meet at the Icahn Stadium in New York, on Thursday.
The meet will be a female competition powered by Serena Williams’ husband and Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian.
Williams will face strong competition from Olympic 100-metres hurdles champion Masai Russell, and Jasmine Camach-Quinn the Olympic Games bronze medallist and Diamond League champion.
Meanwhile, Goule-Toppin’s competition will come from silver medallist from the Olympic Games Tsige Duguma and bronze medallist Mary Mora.
The all women meet will feature six events, 100, 200, 400, 800, and 1500 metres as well as the 100 metre hurdles.
