People’s National Party, PNP, caretaker in North East Manchester, Valenton Wint, says the seat will be removed from the hands of the Jamaica Labour Party, JPL, at the next general election.

The JLP has installed Senator Audrey Marks as its candidate in waiting. She’ll replace Audley Shaw who has held the seat for the JLP since 1993.

Speaking at a PNP meeting in Hatfield on Sunday, Wint says Senator Marks will be blown away by the wind of change sweeping through the constituency.

Wint says it’s no accident that the PNP grabbed control of the Walderston and Christiana divisions coming out of the last local government elections.

Meanwhile PNP general secretary, Dr. Dayton Campbell, is questioning why Audley Shaw is yet to give a public endorsement of Senator Marks as his successor in North East Manchester.
