Woman killed after being hit by Toyota Mark X, driver being sought

A woman has died after she was struck by a Toyota Mark X along the Ocho Rios main road in St Ann on Saturday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Claudette Thorpe.

According to reports, the incident occurred along Main Street in Ocho Rios sometime after 6:00 a.m. Police say the driver involved in the crash fled the scene, leaving the injured woman behind.

Thorpe later succumbed to the injuries she sustained.

The Jamaica Constabulary Force’s Communications Network confirmed the incident and noted that investigations are ongoing. Authorities are now appealing to the motorist involved to turn himself in at the nearest police station.
