
A 56-year-old man, Eugene Ramirez, is in police custody after he allegedly confessed to the murder of an elderly woman, identified as Esthel Trapp. The woman’s body was discovered this morning with apparent injuries to her head and face. A metal hammer was retrieved from the scene and is believed to be the murder weapon. According to a police report, Orange Walk police were alerted to the crime by Ramirez himself. Love News understands that the first call came in at around three o’clock this morning in which a male caller informed the police that he had killed a woman after an argument and provided his location. Police initially had difficulty locating the area, but Ramirez called back at 5:30, and Police were then able to locate the crime scene on the Old Northern Highway in an area known as London Road, some five miles from Santa Martha Village, Orange Walk District. When the officers arrived, they found Ramirez standing on the roadside. He led officers to a wooden structure where they discovered the motionless body of the woman. The victim was found on the floor next to a bed, covered with a sheet, with visible injuries to her head and face. Ramirez reportedly worked for the victim as the caretaker of her farm. Police are yet to issue an official report regarding motive and circumstance.
