Woman Killed in Domestic Dispute in Spanish Lookout

A murder has rocked the quiet community of Spanish Lookout after a young woman lost her life in a violent domestic dispute. The victim, 20-year-old Claritza Rosalee Granillo Rodriguez, was found stabbed at a lumber yard residence on Center Road last night. According to one source from Spanish Lookout, he explained that Rodriguez recently moved to Spanish Lookout about a week ago. Love News spoke with ASP Stacy Smith who indicated that the incident stemmed from an argument that escalated into deadly violence, allegedly involving her common-law husband and his brother.

Stacy Smith, Assistant Superintendent of Police: “What we know is that some time around 9:37pm on 16th July 2025 police in the San Ignacio area responded to reports of a stabbing incident in the Spanish Lookout Community. Upon police’s arrival at the scene of the incident they observed the unresponsive body of a female who was subsequently identified as Claritza Rosalie Graneo Castillo and the body bore several apparent stab wounds to the upper part of her body. The information that we have ascertained so far is that Castillo was at the residence which she shares with her common-law husband and several relatives of his when an argument ensued between them allegedly over the playing of loud music. This argument escalated and it culminated with the fatal stabbing of Castillo. Police have since apprehended the suspect in this incident who is Eris Naim Enriquez Gabarette and he was apprehended some time around 2:40 pm this afternoon because he is alleged to have fled the scene of the incident after it occurred. So he is currently in police custody. He was found in the area of La Lomaluz Boulevard which is in Santa Elena. From what we know so far it was solely members of the family, I think over five of them who are said to be residents of that house.”

Eris Enriquez Gavarette is now in police custody pending charges.
