The 2026 Women in Art Exhibition officially opens tonight at seven o’clock inside the Bliss Center for the Performing Arts, bringing together more than one hundred female artists from across the country. This year’s exhibition is being held under the theme “Balancing the Scales” and will showcase a wide range of creative works from artists between the ages of eight and seventy. The display will include paintings, poetry, photography, and other visual art pieces that highlight the experiences and perspectives of women. Organized by the Institute of Creative Arts, the exhibition forms part of the activities being held during Women’s Month in Belize. According to the Director of the Institute of Creative Arts, Kim Vasquez, the event continues to provide an important platform for women to share their stories through art.
Many of the featured pieces reflect the stages of the feminine journey, from childhood and personal growth to the challenges and empowerment that often come with womanhood. Through color, imagery, and words, participating artists explore themes such as identity, resilience, cultural heritage, and self-expression. Artist Saidy Moore also spoke with Love News about the exhibition and the meaning behind the works on display.
The annual Women in Art Exhibition also celebrates the growing contributions of women within Belize’s creative community. By bringing artists and audiences together in one space, organizers say the event encourages dialogue about gender, culture, and the evolving role of women in society. Visitors attending the exhibition can expect a reflective and inspiring experience that highlights the creativity, voices, and stories of women artists from across Belize.
