Minister of Sports, Olivia Grange, has sought to allay fears that the resurfacing of the running track at the National Stadium would affect several events set for the venue.
Some of the major events scheduled for the National Stadium include, CONCACAF Champions Cup between Cavalier and Messi’s Inter Miami on March 13.
There’s also the ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys’ and Girls’ Athletics Championships from March 24-29 and the Grand Slam Track series in April.
Minister Grange says she received the assurances of the Rekortan vice-president for the North American region, Doug Stone, that the work is on schedule.
Minister Grange is conscious that several Jamaicans are interested eager to witness Lionel Messi play in Jamaica when his Inter Miami side take on Cavalier in the CONCACAF Champions Cup.
She’s assuring Football fans that the work will not affect the hosting of the match.
Olivia Grange.
