World Athletics Awards Mikaili Charlemagne With Swim Scholarship

World Aquatics has awarded Mikaili Charlemagne one of its swim scholarships to train at its Thailand training facility.

Charlemagne who was in Jamaica training under Kaizen Swim Club’s Rory Alvaranga left the island on Monday for World Aquatics’ World Championships in Singapore.

World Aquatics operates and supports several world-class training centres and centres of excellence globally, including locations in France, Hungary, Thailand, Australia, USA and Canada, which are part of the World Aquatics Scholarship Programme.

These are a core part of the World Aquatics Scholarship Programme, hosting athletes from national teams for extensive training periods. These facilities are crucial for athlete development and provide optimal conditions for training for various aquatic disciplines.

Former Kaizen Swim Club standouts Kito Campbell and Kaheem Lozer are Jamaica’s most recent participants awarded this prestigious World Aquatic swim scholarship.

Campbell trained USA, while Lozer trained in Thailand.

After earning a World Aquatics scholarship, Lozer spent a transformative year training at Thanyapura Health and Sports Resort in Thailand—a facility revered for hosting some of the sport’s best, including Olympic legends Adam Peaty and Mollie O’Callaghan.
