World Indoors: Three medals on final day for Jamaica

JAMAICA CAPTURED three medals on the final day of the World Athletics Indoor Championships in Nanjing, China on Sunday.

Long jumper Wayne Pinnock and the men's 4x400 metres relay won silver medals while sprint hurdler Ackera Nugent pocketed a bronze in the 60m hurdles.

Pinnock's 8.29 metres season's best missed out on gold by just one centimetre as Italy's Mattia Furlani won gold with 8.30m. The 4x400m team clocked a season's best 3:05.05 to finish behind winners United States with 3:03.13 (SB). The members of the Jamaican team were Rusheen McDonald, Jasauna Dennis, Kimar Farquharson and Demar Francis.

Nugent clocked a season's best 7.74 seconds to finish behind gold medallist Devynne Charlton (7.72 SB) of The Bahamas and Switzerland's Ditaji Kambundji (7.73).

Jamaica ended the meet with four medals and 17th spot on the overall medal table. Raymond Richards had earlier won a bronze medal in the men's high jump.

The United States topped the meet with 16 medals, six gold, four silver and six bronze/
