Wyclef Jean To Perform At NYS Fair Concert

Grammy-winning musician Wyclef Jean will bring the curtain down on the Chevrolet Music Series at the 2026 Great New York State Fair when he performs at Suburban Park on September 7.

The Haitian-born singer, songwriter, and producer is scheduled to take the stage at 6 p.m., closing out a concert lineup that features more than 40 performances across the fair’s two main venues, Suburban Park and Chevy Court.

Wyclef, who rose to international fame as a founding member of The Fugees, has remained a major force in hip-hop, pop, and reggae for more than three decades. Alongside fellow members Lauryn Hill and Pras Michel, he helped create The Score, the Grammy-winning 1996 album that produced classics including Ready or Not, Fu-Gee-La, and Killing Me Softly.

He later launched a successful solo career, releasing eight studio albums and chart-topping songs such as Gone Till November and Sweetest Girl (Dollar Bill).

Fair organizers said Wyclef’s performance will cap a diverse schedule featuring artists from multiple genres. Other Caribbean stars slated to perform include Jamaican dancehall heavyweight Sean Paul, who will appear at Suburban Park on August 27, and reggae star Shaggy, whose 2025 appearance attracted more than 30,000 fans.

Suburban Park, located near Gate 10 behind the Expo Center, hosts the fair’s largest concerts, while Chevy Court, near Gate 1 and the Center of Progress Building, features afternoon and evening performances. Both venues offer limited seating.

Among the headline acts scheduled for the 2026 fair are The Commodores, Quiet Riot, The All-American Rejects, Melissa Etheridge, Flo Rida, Ashanti, Tori Kelly, ZZ Top, and Violent Femmes.

Last year’s concerts drew large crowds, with Jessie Murph, Shaggy, and Lynyrd Skynyrd each attracting more than 30,000 spectators.

The 2026 Great New York State Fair runs from August 26 through September 7 in Syracuse, with Wyclef Jean bringing the event’s concert series to a close with what organizers expect will be one of its marquee performances.
