YG Marley global hit Praise Jah in the Moonlight becomes certified Platinum in the United Kingdom for surpassing 600,000 units in sales and streams.
The latest achievement for the song, announced by the British Phonographic Industry on Friday May 8, 2026, marks the first reggae song released this decade to be certified Platinum.
It is also the only reggae song released this decade to sell more than 7 million units worldwide.
Elsewhere, Praise Jah In The Moonlight is certified Gold the United States for more than 500,000 units in sales and streams and Platinum certification in Canada, recognizing over 80,000 units sold. The track is also certified Platinum in New Zealand.
Released December 27, 2023, “Praise Jah in the Moonlight” is was co-written and produced with Lauryn Hill and built around a sample of Crisis by Bob Marley & The Wailers. The song peaked at No. 5 on the UK Official singles chart in February 2024 and No. 34 on the Billboard Hot 100.
On streaming platforms, the song has surpassed 500 million Spotify streams, making it the highest-streaming reggae song released this decade.
The success has also elevated YG Marley’s international profile with headline spots on Reggae Sumfest and Coachella performance, where he was joined onstage by Lauryn Hill, Wyclef Jean, Busta Rhymes, and Spiff Starr.
