T&T Under-14 footballers will go into their final match in Tier I Group B against French Guiana today from 1.30 pm in a must-win situation after suffering a 4-1 loss to Haiti in their second match of the Caribbean Football Union Challenge Series in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic Tuesday

Coming off a 1-1 draw with Puerto Rico on Monday, the Randolph Boyce-coached T&T boys fell behind as early as the fourth minute via a Jodeley Delmas’ free kick before Wensley Dumorne doubled Haiti’s advantage in the 26th minute while Jerry Petit-Homme then added a third with a long-range effort in the 35th minute, giving Haiti a 3-0 lead at halftime.

T&T pulled a goal back through Jiair Nanton from the penalty spot after the restart, but Haiti remained firmly in control with Petit-Homme completing his brace in the 67th minute to restore the three-goal cushion and secure all three points.

The victory moves Haiti to six points and keeps them at the top of Tier I Group B, while T&T remained on one point.

In the other match in Tier I Group B, French Guiana earned their first points of the tournament with a dramatic 1-0 victory over Puerto Rico with Railey Jean Louis producing the decisive moment in the final minute, scoring the winner and sending French Guiana into celebration.

In Group C, Alijah Mitchum produced one of the day’s most impressive individual performances, scoring a hat-trick as St. Kitts and Nevis defeated Curaçao 4-2 and Jamaica edged Aruba when substitute Cristian Foster provided the breakthrough in the 40th minute.

And in Group A, the Dominican Republic held firm to secure the victory and move to six points, after slipping past Barbados 3-2 and Bermuda blajked Martinique 2-0.
