Minister of Finance and the Public Service, Fayval Williams, says more than 290,000 Jamaicans have benefitted from the reverse income tax Initiative launched by the government.
Addressing the House of Representatives on Tuesday, she says this represents a $6 billion tax return to the Jamaican people.
The reverse income tax credit provides $20,000 to each Jamaican earning $3 million or less annually. Over half a million Jamaicans are eligible to apply for the scheme, which expires on December 2.
Mrs. Williams is urging those who’ve yet to do so to sign up.
