Love News received reports of a double aggravated burglary that occurred early Saturday morning near the Hopkins junction in southern Belize. Reports indicate that four masked men carried out back-to-back armed hold-ups at the PUMA gas station and the Madisco Depot. Our newsroom understands that the incident happened shortly after three o’clock with the assailants first targeting the gas station. There, they tied up the on-duty security guard before robbing the establishment. Moments later, the same group reportedly crossed the highway and held up the security guard at the recently opened depot, stealing his firearm before escaping. We are told that the authorities from the Dangriga formation responded to the scene shortly after receiving the call and launched an investigation into the heists. No injuries were reported, and investigators are reviewing surveillance footage and other evidence as the search for the four robbers continues. We also understand that one of the responding police officers was injured as he shot himself in the foot.
