In a brazen daylight robbery, two men on a motorcycle held up and robbed a businessman at a Puma gas station in Black Man Eddy Village, Cayo District, making off with $8,000 in cash. The incident, which occurred yesterday evening just before five o’clock, involved shots being fired into the ground, causing a stone to strike the victim, who was identified as 44-year-old William Wall. According to a police report, Wall, a businessman from Little Belize in the Orange Walk District, was with David Harder and Jose Heredia at the gas station when two men on a motorcycle, wearing long-sleeved shirts, approached them. One of the assailants, armed with a 9mm pistol, demanded money. Wall attempted to run, prompting the armed robber to pursue him on foot and fire two shots into the ground. A stone ricocheted from the impact, hitting Wall in the right foot and abdomen. Fearing for his life, Wall handed over $8,000 in cash to the robber. The two assailants then fled the scene in the direction of Teakettle Village. Police were dispatched to the scene and processed the area, retrieving two 9mm expended shells.
