Australia made a commanding start to the Super 8’s at the ICC T20 World Cup by cruising to a 28 run win under the Duckworth/Lewis method over Bangladesh in Antigua on Thursday night.
Captain Najmul Hossain Shanto 41 and Towhid Hridoy 40 staged a 65 run fifth wicket stand to take Bangladesh to 140 for 8 in their 20 overs.
Pat Cummins starred with the ball, he claimed a hatrick 3 for 29 and Adam Zampa 2 for 24.
Rain interrupted Australia’s reply and when the players were taken off the pitch for the final time the Aussies were 28 runs ahead at 100 for 2 after 11.2 overs.
David Warner 53 not out and Travis Head 31, set the stage when they combined to slam 65 in the first 6 overs.
