Belize Cancer Society Hosts Pink Power Expo to Promote Awareness and Support Survivors

The Belize Cancer Society remains steadfast in its mission as Breast Cancer Awareness Month continues to be observed both globally and locally. On Thursday, the Society hosted the first-ever Pink Power Expo at the SCA Auditorium, as part of its ongoing efforts throughout the month to raise awareness, encourage early detection, and provide support for those affected by the disease. During the expo, President Kim Simplis Barrow emphasized that they have officially launched their store, where items that were displayed at the expo can be found. She also highlighted their upcoming fundraising Gala.

Kim Simplis Barrow, Belize Cancer Society President: “Part of the expo is that the Belize Cancer Society has officially launched its shop and so we have all of our branded items on display here that we will be selling and hopefully people will come, and they will purchase because all proceeds go back to assisting Cancer patients. I want to take this opportunity to thank Dr. Arzu for her sponsorship, for her partnership with us in supporting our shop and putting in the seed money for us to buy our items.  So, we’re very, very thankful for that. We continue to try to educate, advocate, and empower our Belizean public on not just Breast cancer, but all cancers. We’re having our fundraising gala on the 25th of October at Caribbean Motors.  We still have a few tickets left.  So, if you  haven’t gotten your tickets, please contact the BCS office or any one of the board members and secure your tickets.”

Tickets for the Gala are $150.00, with all proceeds going directly to support cancer patients. To reserve, call or message (501) 613-7666 or email belizecancersociety@gmail.com/
