Belize City Man Charged for Aggravated Burglary of Ex-Common-Law Wife’s Home

 30-year-old James Jones was detained by police on October 12th for aggravated burglary. A report was made by Juana Gutierrez, his 43-year-old ex-common-law wife. According to Gutierrez, while at home on Sunday around 1:00 pm, Jones, forcefully entered her Belize City residence without her permission. That’s when an argument reportedly ensued, during which Jones struck Gutierrez on the head with the firearm before he left. As a result, Gutierrez sustained minor head injuries. Jones, a laborer from Victoria Street, Belize, was taken into custody and is awaiting further legal action.
