Belize City Man Gunned Down in Port Loyola Ambush

Shots rang out on Nurse Findley Crescent in the Port Loyola area of Belize City around 10:45 last night and when the smoke cleared Richard Escobar Acosta,  37, a Belizean laborer lay dead on the street. 

Neighbors told LOVE NEWS that they heard as many as six shots were fired but that they are puzzled as to who Escobar is because he’s not from the area. Police say that Escobar was ambushed by an unknown gunman who opened fire and escaped. He was then rushed to KHMH, but unfortunately, he succumbed. Police are asking anyone with information to come forward and assist in the investigation.
