Belize City Man Remanded on Burglary Charge After Neighbor’s Home Break-In

A Belize City man is behind bars after being accused of breaking into his sixty-four-year-old neighbor’s home. 21-year-old man Albert Zetina was charged with burglary after allegedly stealing a television, a chocolate bar, and a sandwich from the home of Deborah Gaynair on August 5. Zetina, who pleaded not guilty, was granted bail of $5,000 with two sureties. However, he was unable to post bail before the court closed and was remanded to Belize Central Prison. He is due back in court on September 25. Police were called to the scene on Hunters Lane after receiving a report of a burglary in progress. Officers found Zetina, who was then handed over to the Crimes Investigation Branch. Gaynair later reported that the items were missing from her home.
