Kevin Avilez, Love News: And just like that Belize volleyball women have secured the bronze medal for the Central American Games against the host country Guatemala. The Games started a little after twelve this afternoon and Belize came out full swing from start to the end leaving Guatemala on the floor as Belize soared for every spike showing that they were not letting go of this historic medal. Belize made quick work of Guatemala in the first set, ending with a massive 25-13 lead. The second set opened with a huge swing from the middle player, Kevana Sebastian, as she kept the momentum throughout the rest of the game along with Captain Ramirez. Guatemala began building up momentum but that was quickly shot down by the wall of defense at the net. And with even more firepower, the captain of the ladies took the second set building their morale and edging one step closer to victory with a 25-19 score at the end. Guatemala managed to crawl back for a third set victory, leaving Belize at 14. But their celebrations were short-lived as the girls went back to the drawing board and outplayed Guatemala for the fourth set securing their victory and walking home with the bronze medal. We would like to say congrats to the stellar athletes.
