Belmopan Taxi Driver Robbed by Three Masked Men at Lawrence and Rose Nicolas Field

A Belmopan taxi driver reported being robbed while at a field on Tuesday night just after nine o’clock.  According to police, 22-year-old, Danilo Ochoa, was with a friend at the Lawrence and Rose Nicolas Field when they were approached by three masked men. One of the men was armed with appeared to be either a stick or a piece of steel.  Ochoa stated that one of the assailants grabbed his grey iPhone X, valued at eight hundred Belize dollars from his lap, while another took a phone from his friend. The three individuals then fled in the direction of the City Council. Ochoa and his brother later drove to the field to search for the culprits but were unsuccessful.  Ochoa, who was unable to provide detailed descriptions due to the masks and hoodies worn by the robbers, said the field was dimly lit at the time of the incident.
