Blaise Bicknell Wins Bounty Invitational Tennis Classic

Jamaica’s number one tennis player, Blaise Bicknell, secured the men’s singles title at the Bounty Invitational Classic at Couples in Ocho Rios, on Sunday.

Bicknell turned back the challenge of his national team-mate Randy Phillips 6-4, 7-5.

Bicknell, who has decided to become a professional after graduating from college, collected $120,000 for his win while Phillips pocketed $60,000.

Bicknell was elated for the victory but gave credit to Phillips for pushing him all the way.

The ladies singles went to Shanie James who outlasted Maureen Williams 6-2, 6-3.
