Bob Marley and Bunny Wailer’s sister drops new album

1 month ago 30

Your Richness is Life, the début album from Black Pearl Livingston, the sister of both Bob Marley and Bunny Wailer, was officially released on August 22.

More than six decades in the making, Your Richness is Life is produced by Greg Quail (Australian TV/record producer and Jamaican music lover) and features a collection of 10 reggae tracks rooted in reality, romance, and Rastafari. The set includes eight original songs and a cover from each of her brothers’ voluminous catalogues.

Born Claudette ‘Pearl’ Livingston on June 7, 1962, in Jamaica, Black Pearl Livingston is the child of Bob Marley’s mother, Cedella, and Bunny Wailer’s father, Thaddeus. Your Richness is Life is an introspective story of being the little sister of both legendary artists. Her brothers’ profound influence on her and all of humanity has defined much of her life... it was only a matter of time before Black Pearl Livingston committed to record her own lyrics and melodies. After several decades of family tragedy and personal struggles, Black Pearl Livingston has finally arrived. In her own words, “Better late than never.”

Also available is a new video for the vibrant track I’m The Rebel, taken from the new album.
