Reggae icon Capleton is mourning the loss of his beloved brother, Rohan “Garry” Bailey, who passed away recently. The nature of his illness has not been ascertained. A nine-night service was held at the artist’s Corporate Area home last week, where family and friends gathered to celebrate Garry’s life and legacy. The loss comes at a deeply reflective moment for the “Fireman,” who is also preparing to release his forthcoming studio album, Heights of Fire.

Capleton described his brother as a genuine and selfless man who would do anything for anyone without expecting anything in return. Those close to the artist said Garry was deeply respected by everyone who knew him, and his humility and kindness touched countless lives. Friends of the Bailey family reportedly became emotional at the nine-night service, a testament to the love and admiration Garry inspired throughout his life.

Despite the heartbreak, Capleton remains grounded in his mission, using music as both a source of strength and spiritual healing. According to Suzanne Bennett, the artist’s manager, Garry was known for his hard work, generosity, and unwavering loyalty. His passing, she said, has left an immeasurable void, but his memory continues to live on through the people whose lives he impacted.

Capleton is now channelling his emotions into his upcoming performances and the release of Heights of Fire, produced by Evidence Music. The project follows his recent recognition at Jamaica’s Grand Gala 2025, where he was honoured alongside Beres Hammond and Leroy Sibbles for his contribution to Jamaican music and culture. Featuring collaborations with reggae greats including Dennis Brown, Stephen Marley, and Damian “Junior Gong” Marley, Heights of Fire is intended to inspire listeners and guide them through life’s challenges while reinforcing messages of hope and positive change.

With standout tracks like Behave Yourself and Red Again, the album blends Capleton’s signature fiery energy with powerful social and spiritual themes. For fans, the release serves as both a celebration of resilience and a testament to the enduring spirit of King Shango, who continues to carry the torch for reggae’s living legends.
