Caribbean Leaders Gather in Belize for Good Deeds Day Conference

Twenty delegates from countries across the Caribbean are gathered in Belize this week for the Good Deeds Day Caribbean Leadership Conference. The delegates are the heads of charitable and community organizations with areas of focus from the environment to supporting women, children and the elderly. The conference is aimed at enhancing the work of each organization through networking, discussing best practices and sharing experiences. At the opening ceremony of the week-long conference, Kanyan Rabino, CEO of Good Deeds Day Global Movement, said that its about doing good all year round as opposed to a single day.

Charlotte Nal, founder of the Ixchel Caribe Foundation and Leader of Good Deeds Day Belize, said that presentations will delve into the benefits of forming partnerships. Special Envoy for the Development of Families and Children Rossana Briceño says that participating in the conference will help to improve the advocacy work done by her office.

The opening ceremony was held last night at Old Belize, while day one of the conference kicked off today at the Biltmore Plaza.
