West Indies legend, Chris Gayle, will be in charge of the West Indies Champions in the World Championship of Legends, WCL.

The tournament is set for England, from July 3-13.

The WCL will see six teams namely South Africa, India, Pakistan, England, Australia, and the West Indies competing against each other.

The tournament will be hosted at the Edgbaston Stadium and Northamptonshire Stadium.

This T20 tournament, approved by the England and Wales Cricket Board, ECB, will feature retired and non-contracted players.

Chris Gayle recently made his appearance in New York during the T20 World Cup 2024 match between India and Pakistan.

The former cricketer was seen wearing a white blazer having India’s tri-colours and Pakistan’s green colour on each sleeve.

Later, Gayle also asked the legends from both teams to sign an autograph on his blazer.

Though the full team has not been finalised yet, it will feature stars like Dwayne Smith, Samuel Badree and T20 World Cup-winning captain Daren Sammy.

Ahead of the leadership responsibility, Chris Gayle said, “I look forward to rejoining my family in our quest to win the cup.

We are also delighted to keep having the opportunity to play more matches such as the prestigious World Championship of Legends to return to our fans in a whole new participation.”
