Colombia and Uruguay will play for a spot in the final of Copa America at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina, today.

The fans should be in for a memorable matchup between two storied CONMEBOL teams battling for a chance to reach the tournament final. Both Colombia and Uruguay have been incredibly impressive in the run up to this massive match.

For Colombia, they’ve already matched the highest total of goals they’ve ever scored in this competition with 11.

A catalyst for this excellent offensive performance has been their captain, James Rodriguez.

Rodriguez has tied Lionel Messi’s record of 5 assists in a single edition of the tournament since 2011 and will look to break it against Uruguay.

Uruguay has only allowed one goal throughout the whole tournament.

Marcelo Bielsa’s men have scored an impressive nine goals but also kept in clean at the back with an incredibly hard-working style of play.

Against Colombia they’ll be without half of their backline that’s started every match for them so far in the tournament.

The last time either team made the final, Colombia in 2001 and Uruguay in 2011, both teams went on to win the title.

Meanwhile, Defending champions Argentina beat Canada 2-nil in New Jersey on Tuesday to secure a spot in Sunday’s final.

Julian Alvarez shot the world champions ahead in the first half before Lionel Messi made the game safe in the 51st minute.

Argentina had beaten Canada 2-nil in the opening game of the tournament.
