Weighing on the West Indies defeat was cricket analyst based in Antigua, Vernon Springer, who believes at this point it makes no sense to fire West Indian coaches following poor performances from the regional team.
So abysmal was the West Indies batting, only Brandon King got a half century in the entire series, while fast-bowler Shamar Joseph ended the team’s second best scorer.
Springer says based on his experience the amount of time spent by batters in the nets is insufficient to compete with the best teams in the world.
Springer suggested that some of the region’s most qualified coaches should be inserted at the regional level in order to correct deficiency and help players be better prepared when they get the opportunity at International level.
