Dangriga Artist Seriously Injured in Hummingbird Highway Accident

A resident of Dangriga Town was involved in a road traffic incident early this afternoon in the area of mile five on the Hummingbird Highway in the Stann Creek District.  The 52-year-old artist, Juan Carlos, was taken to the Southern Regional Hospital in an unconscious state at around midday.  Our correspondent, Harry Arzu, spoke with Kristen Vervoort who says that the victim, Juan Carlos Lopez, was on his way to the pharmacy to get medication for his son.

Lopez was in a small red pickup truck heading towards Hope Creek Village when he lost control of the vehicle.  The impact jerked him out of the driver’s seat and through the windshield, onto the highway pavement.  Love News understands that he has since been transferred to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital.
