Davion Ferguson, has landed the biggest job of his over ten years in football when he was appointed head coach of multiple premier league champions Portmore United.

Ferguson was given the reigns at Portmore following an interview process which was completed on Friday.

The much travelled Ferguson was a casualty in the major coaching shake up at former premier league champions Mount Pleasant F.C recently.

Ferguson was assistant to Theodore Whitmore for the past two seasons during which they won the title and were beaten in the final.

However, Mount Pleasant decided not to renew the contracts of both Whitmore, Ferguson and the rest of the backroom staff.

Ferguson is also head coach at Jamaica College and also had stints at Hildel and Fogo United among others.

At Portmore United he replaces Phillip Williams who guided the team to the playoffs in this season’s Wray and Nephew Jamaica Premier League.

They lost out in a two legged quarterfinal tie to Arnett Gardens after finishing fourth in the regular season with 14 wins and 7 draws.
