Dr Beresford Hammond honoured by the City of Boston

The City of Boston officially declared August 13, 2025, Beres Hammond Day in recognition of the reggae legend’s profound impact on music, culture, and Caribbean heritage.

The special citation presented by Bianca Rose, Boston’s Caribbean Cultural Advisor, on behalf of Mayor Michelle Wu, came during the Boston leg of Hammond’s Forever Giving Tour which kicked off on August 13 at the Wilbur Theatre.

Dr. Beresford Hammond OJ, also known as The Chairman of the Board is widely revered as one of reggae’s most iconic voices and has been captivating audiences with his soulful delivery and timeless hits for decades.

Meanwhile, Hammond’s Forever Giving Tour continues with several stops across major cities in the United States.

Tonight, August 19, the icon will perform at The Paramount in Huntington, New York, before heading to other cities like Norfolk in Virginia, Charlotte, North Carolina, Orlando and finally, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where the tour will wrap up on August 31 at the Au-Rene Theatre at Broward Centre.
