In a statement, the Authority extended congratulations to Dr. Shallow, expressing full confidence in his leadership, strategic vision, and longstanding record of national and regional service. The SVGTA says his strengths in governance, innovation, and institution-building will help drive continued growth and diversification across the tourism and maritime sectors.

Dr. Shallow also brings extensive experience from his time on the Board of Directors of Cricket West Indies (CWI) and his tenure as President of the organization. His leadership helped strengthen sports administration in the Caribbean and expand the visibility and commercial value of West Indies cricket.

That background, the Tourism Authority noted, is especially relevant as St. Vincent and the Grenadines experiences significant momentum in sports tourism. International Masters’ tournaments and youth cricket development programs are expected to attract thousands of visitors annually, positioning the country as a premier destination for cricket-related travel. The Authority says Dr. Shallow’s regional networks and expertise will be pivotal in strengthening this growing market.

Annette Mark, CEO of the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Tourism Authority, welcomed the appointment with optimism.

“The Tourism Authority is honoured to welcome Dr. Shallow as our new Minister. His proven leadership, modern outlook, and deep commitment to national transformation align perfectly with the direction in which our tourism product is headed. We look forward to working closely with him to further elevate our destination, strengthen our markets, expand our maritime opportunities, and build on the tremendous momentum already underway.”

The SVGTA also expressed gratitude to the outgoing Minister for his years of partnership and support, noting his role during key periods of expansion, innovation, and global repositioning of the destination.

As the 2025–2026 tourism cycle begins—with major international events, new airlift partnerships under consideration, sizable hotel developments, cultural festivals, and transformative product-development initiatives—the Authority says it is ready to advance these priorities under Dr. Shallow’s leadership.

The Tourism Authority reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the Minister in shaping a strong, competitive, and inclusive tourism and maritime agenda that benefits Vincentians, deepens community involvement, and enhances global visibility for St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
