“Easy Glenn” Charged with Gruesome Murder of School Warden Shaniele Faber in Belize City

Police have charged Goldburn Adolphus better known as “Easy Glenn” with gruesome murder of 42-year-old Shaniele Faber, a school warden of Douglas Jones Street in Belize City. Her dead body was found on Saturday stuffed in a blue trash barrel sometime after 4:00 pm when Lincoln Flowers was digging inside the barrel for pint bottles.

The dismembered body, which had both hands severed with tattoos to the face and neck, clothed in a red shorts and black top was already in a partial state of decomposition. When police retrieved the body, they were asking the public’s help in identifying her…however, they secured her identification early Sunday morning. Police have since detained a man who told them he found the body in his house, a former site of the Land’s Department, and he disposed of the body in a nearby garbage bin around 5:30 on Saturday morning. Police are still looking for the missing body parts.

Love news spoke with Kyle Tillett brother of Shaniele Faber who was in shock over his sister’s murder.

Brother of the Deceased: Saturday, I was here at the family residence, and  me and my mom was just relaxing and socializing. And I think between after four minutes to five, I decided to went home and while going on the bus, went home, lay down, was laying on my bed browsing through social media as usual and  I saw the flash news stating that they found someone  in a barrel,  but they didn’t confirm if it was a male or female. They just say it was a dark complexion person. But in my head, I said probably it was those guys who are basically fighting and the war within the city.  And when I scrolled furthermore, I saw it was a female. And the first thing that came to my mind was my sister, because my birthday was on Thursday gone and I noticed that she didn’t reach out to me for my birthday. So, I became suspicious. And soon as I got home said, I told my spouse, my sister Shenille, and I hit her on her leg and right after I got a call from my other sister within the state and she told me the tattoo that was circling around looks just like my sister one so I said I told her tattoos look alike so the only way I could recognize her if I see a face. I live in Ladyville so after 9pm the bus stops running. I had to make a hitchhike to come down to the city and I went straight to the Police Station Precinct 2.  I was able to meet the CIB and he showed me a picture on his phone and right away I recognized it was my sister”

The Leader of the Opposition, Tracy Panton weighed in on social media calling the murder a brutal act, which underscores the urgent and continuing crisis of violence against women and girls in Belize. She added that “It reflects a deeper societal sickness that demands not only outrage, but action. Every Belizean woman deserves to feel safe in her home, in her neighborhood, and in our country. The perpetrator(s)of this horrific crime must be held to account. Law enforcement agencies must conduct an impartial investigation and prosecute this case with the seriousness it deserves.”

She ended by committing both herself as Leader of the Opposition and the UDP to “stand with the women of Belize to continue to champion stronger protections, more effective enforcement, and greater public awareness to end this scourge”.
