Ex-Cop Accused of Swindling $2,000 Granted Bail With Strict Conditions

 31-year-old Desmond Patrick Gordon, an ex-police officer, appeared unrepresented before Magistrate Mannon Dennison, where he was read three counts of obtaining property by deception. Gordon is accused of swindling $900 from Wayne Emmanuel on October 3, $900 from Nina Campos on October 8, and $200 from Tania Nicole on October 28. 

In court, Gordon, who was unrepresented and pleaded not guilty to all charges. The prosecutor did not object to bail but asked the court to impose strict conditions to ensure he complies with his release. Bail was granted to Gordon in the sum of $4,000 plus two sureties of $2,000 each. Conditions of bail include that he must not be arrested and charged with any similar offense while out on bail; he must not contact the virtual complainants or any prosecution witnesses; and he must report to the Belmopan Police Station every Friday, effective November 7, 2025.
