The family of late reggae singer Fantan Mojah is warning the public that there is no official GoFundMe or other fundraising campaign being conducted on his behalf.
In a statement titled “Fraud Alert” shared on Instagram, the family said any appeal for money, donations, fundraising support, or financial contributions claiming to represent Fantan Mojah, his family, his estate, or funeral arrangements should not be considered legitimate.
The family urged members of the public not to send money, share personal information, or engage with anyone making such requests, while encouraging people to remain vigilant against scams and fraudulent activity.
They also noted that information regarding funeral services, memorial activities, and other related arrangements will be shared only through Fantan Mojah’s official social media pages or authorized representatives.
Fantan Mojah, whose given name was Owen Moncrieffe, died at the University Hospital of the West Indies in Kingston on July 14, 2026, after suffering complications related to a heart condition. He was 49.
The family has not announced funeral arrangements and is encouraging supporters to rely only on official channels for updates.
