PAISLEY, Scotland (CMC):
RICHARD KING has already embraced the close-knit atmosphere at St Mirren, describing the club as a ‘family’ just days after arriving in Scotland.
The 23-year-old Jamaican international, who signed last month, has finally linked up with his new teammates following his country’s Gold Cup campaign.
Though his visa has now been approved, he didn’t feature in last night’s friendly against Airdrieonians as he settles into life under manager Stephen Robinson.
“From my short time here, I can see the team is like a family. Everyone is close and works together,” King told the club’s media. “It’s nice here, and I know I’m in a good place.”
The defender, eager to make his mark, expressed his excitement about joining the squad. “I’m very excited to get working with the boys and the coaches. There are some good lads and nice people here. It feels like the right environment for me.”
The former Cavalier FC defender will endure a baptism of fire in the Scottish Premiership as his team, St Mirren, are set to square off with defending champions Celtic in their opening fixture away on August 3.
