Sprinters Kadrian Goldson and Oblique Seville arrived in Italy on Tuesday to join other members of Jamaica’s men’s 4x100m relay team, ahead of Saturday’s London Diamond League meeting.
Goldson and Seville will meet up with Ackeem Blake, Kishane Thompson and Rohan Watson for two days of relay practice as they seek to achieve the qualifying standard for the World Championships in Tokyo Japan in September.
Blake and Seville are down to run in the flat 100m against the likes of World Champion Noah Lyles and Olympic 200m champion Letsile Tebogo.
Thompson, Goldson and Watson are only down for the relay.
Jamaica is currently the 18th ranked team in the world by time and must run faster than the 37.87 seconds of the Netherlands who are in 15th or the 38.20 seconds by 16th place Nigeria.
Two Saturdays ago a team of Adrian Kerr, Goldson, Bouwahgie Nkrumie, and Odain Mcpherson failed to achieve the time after winning the event at the Barbados Grand Prix in 38.46 seconds.
Should the team fail to get the time, they will have another opportunity at the Nacac Senior Championship in the Bahamas August 15-17.
