Jamaica’s national senior men’s football team became the first nation to be eliminated from the Copa America following their 3-1 defeat against Ecuador and Mexico’s 1-nil loss against Venezuela, last night.
Kasey Palmer’s 13th-minute own goal put Ecuador ahead and Kendry Paez made it 2-0 with a penalty kick in the fourth minute of first-half stoppage time.
Michail Antonio scored Jamaica’s first Copa America goal in the 54th, and Alan Minda got the final goal in the first minute of second-half stoppage time.
Coach of the Reggae Boyz, Heimir Hallgrimsson, says too much of his players didn’t turn up to the party.
