Defending champions Italy have booked their ticket to the round of 16 of the European championship after playing out a 1-all draw with Croatia in Leipsig this afternoon.
The Italians left it late with Mattia Zaccagni grabbing a last gasp equalizer with virtually the last play of the game in the 98 minutes to cancel out Luca Modric’s strike which gave Croatia the lead on 55 minutes.
Italy ended second in the group behind Spain who beat Albania 1-nil on Ferran Torres goal to top the group with maximum 9 points.
